Birdwatch

You sit still

outside

anticipating

awhile.

To see a bird.

Don't pop out

St. Francis style.

They won’t land

on your hand

Snow White.

Need to be

cranestill as she.

sans flight.

Patient

as a heron.

Watchful

as a hawk.

Only moving

eyes,

actions of a

rock.

Even when

you're called?

Slow!

Get the

camera now?

No!

You’ll scare it away.

Using memory,

to store it

instantly,

You can

retrieve

your mental note

another day.
