Schedule

A locomotive conductor couldn’t keep a tighter schedule. This schedule is run by variable factors, weather being only one of them. Trains are affected by people and so is this schedule. The first group comes and it’s one right after the other, non-stop. Don’t blow by them because it will be at least another year until you see them again.

Let’s see, there were the Helleborus, the Coltsfoot, the Crocus, the Forsythia and the Daffodils as a prologue. Now there are so many simultaneous soliloquies occurring, I fail to make each performance. Azalea, Lilac, Weigela, Spirea, Peony, etc. Wait a minute! Pull the emergency brake. Isn’t it a little early for these white rhododendron to be blooming? Maybe it is, but according to the abundant blossoms before me, they have arrived. What happened to the schedule? Oh, they must be hybrids.

Get out on the platform and catch the show as they whiz by. It’ll be time for the goldenrod before you know it.
